The Coolport range of network cable economisers (also known as network cable splitters or doublers as well as economizers) manufactured by HellermannTyton allow you to connect multiple devices using a single piece of network cable.
This is only possible because although a network cable contains 4 wire pairs (8 wires), only 2 pairs (4 wires) are actually needed for a computer connection.
